HEY HEY HEY!!! (Or is it HO HO HO?) Christmas is over, but the spirit of Christmas should be with us always!

So we´ve been working, and working, and working. I love my mission! Don´t get me wrong, its not always just roses here. People still reject us (in some very funny ways sometimes); I still get frustrated, and notice my weaknesses. I get tired, exhausted, but I choose to look on the bright side. That’s why I don’t tell you guys about all that stuff, cause it’s not worth the energy

So getting back to the awesome stuff, WE HAVE SOMEONE WHO´S GONNA GET BAPTIZED NEXT WEEK!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Her name´s Nicole and she is really excited for her baptism. Her family doesn’t want anything with the church, so we have to work hard, but I know it´ll all work out! She´s got to attend church with us tomorrow, so please pray a lot for her!!!!

One of my duties as secretary is taking people to the airport (trunky, right?) But there is just one challenge. All the cars in Chile are stick shift. So guess what? I’m learning to drive stick on a big old ford truck that the mission office has! Woohoo! I get my international drivers license next week, so it’ll be fun rolling around Chile. Who would´ve thought that I would receive so many blessings? for coming on the mission, I learned to speak Spanish, speak Portuguese, drive stick, preach the gospel, see life as the way God wants us to see it,  and I get to be in constant contact with President Barreiros and the assistants. And to boot, God has given me AMAZING people to teach and baptize. Where’s the down side in that?

So for those who were wondering, I passed Christmas with all the office and president and Sister Barreiros in the mission home! it was so much fun! We sang Christmas songs, ate dinner. They prepared an exquisite desert. and they gave us as gifts a tie from president and Brazilian chocolate! They are such awesome people. I couldn’t have had a better Christmas in the mission!

I know that Christ lives. Because of his resurrection, we will all live again. How are you going to be when you are resurrected? will you be happy for the good you did, sad for your regrets? the time to prepare is now. Death is conquered, but its up to us to follow Christ in the way that we can get to the Kingdom of God. And the best part: HE HELPS US DO IT! We just have to let him.  Keep going forward and remember, Trunkiness never was Happiness ;)

HEY EVERYONE! BET YA DIDNT THINK YOU WERE GONNA HEAR FROM ME ON A SATURDAY, RIGHT?

Now, I’m gonna explain, just hold on. So we worked in Nueva san Martin for the last time on Tuesday, trying our best to find other people to come unto Christ. The day ended, I finished my packing, and Elder Ferreira was a little sad. I know he will be a great missionary. Now here’s the funny thing about our mission. They tell you you have transfers, but the don’t tell you where. We have a HUGE meeting with the entire mission, and in front of everyone they call you to your new sector. It’s pretty fun. So Elder Ferreira and I got to the meeting and I was getting pretty nervous. I had no idea where I would go. A couple guys had said that I would be companions with elder Allen again, but no one knew. Then in the meeting they called my name, and I was assigned to work AS A SECRETARY!  I’m here in the office now. But here’s the best part: IM WITH ELDER ALLEN AGAIN!!! Were not companions, but he is also working in the office and we see each other all day. We went on divisions yesterday, which was a blast!

My new companion is Elder Martins, from BRAZIL! Now I can keep practicing my Portuguese! That’ll make it 6 months of my mission with Brazilians haha! He´s a really cool guy. We´d known each other when I was in El Quisco, and now we are companions. We are in the ward Esquina Blanca. Brother Mackay, you remember the mission offices, right? To this day they are still in the church on Alberto Llona haha! The chapel is HUGE. Honestly one of the biggest ones I’ve seen in my whole life.

So what do I do? Until 5pm, I’m in the office. Working on visas, updating telephones, and ton of other things. After the office, we head off to work until 9pm. The proselyting time is soooooo limited!!!! But God will help us! We are so gonna baptize this change!! I’m honestly sooo pumped! This is gonna be a great experience

Love,

Elder Pomar

PS from here on out, my pday is SATURDAY, not Tuesday, just so you all know :)

Yep, you heard. They called me last night and told me I have transfers. The 7 and a half months I had In Nueva San Martin literally saved my mission. Its holy ground to me. I’ve never seen so many miracles and felt so much the love of the Savior. It’s hard to describe your feelings. I know that the Lord wants me to go, and I know I should go, but you still feel sad. Nevertheless, I feel 100 percent with no regrets. I gave my all. I worked as hard as I can. I came to know myself, my strength and my weaknesses. I’m really gonna miss Elder Ferreira. I look at him all bright eyed and ready to work, and I see soo much potential as a servant of the Lord. I pray that he will keep him going strong

I Just want to see all the converts I’ve helped in the Celestial Kingdom. I love them soooo much! In a funny kind of way, its almost like they are my "children" spiritually. Carlos and Daniela are super stoked to get sealed next year, and I hope Ill be able to see them!

I want to share with you maybe the most important lesson of my whole mission. Your greatest creation is you. At the final judgment, your going to have to be accountable for what you BECAME, not what you did. The atonement covers our sins, but to be able to live with God again, its not enough to just act like Christ. You gotta BE like Christ. The Beautiful part is that God will and wants to help us.

"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." Ether 12:27

Thanks dad for always sharing this scripture so much with me. The way to change is simple: give up your agency. Give it up! Give it up to God. It’s the only way. If you do not fight, but just let him do his work, he´s gonna make soooo much out of you. We just gotta pray and Tell God that we want to change, and that we wont fight him anymore. We need to forsake the natural man and remember the spiritual selves that we are

Thank you for all your support. I couldn’t do it with out you all. I know that I receive a lot of blessings thanks to your prayers. Love you all from the bottom of my heart. Tomorrow begins a new adventure. Where will I go? Who will I be with? What will be my responsibility? I know just one thing: God is at the head of this church, and wherever I go will be his will that I might grow and help in his work to save souls. Till next week!

Elder Pomar
